The Perfect Weekend

The Marks family officially had the most perfect weekend EVER! We had three days of beautiful blue skies, a cool breeze, and outings with great friends. Life really couldn't get any better! Here is a review of what we did:

Friday: Ryder and I began our day with Davis' Second Birthday Party at the zoo. It was so much fun! Ryder got to see all kinds of animals and spend some time in a new place with friends. The cupcake cake wasn't too shabby either! He then took an awesome nap and woke up in a fabulous mood. I decided to take Ryder on a "mommy and me" date to Ali's Strawberry Shakes. Ali's is a small farmer's market here in town and they also make the BEST fresh fruit handspun milkshakes around. We went and looked at the pumpkins there, picked out some peas, and then split a large peach shake. It was delicious and Ryder drank about 75% of it...so much for dinner! We, meaning Nate and I since Ryder refused, ate dinner at our fave Mexican restaurant, Peppers, and then played outside until bedtime.

Saturday: We ran the Trick-or-Trot 5K here in our neighborhood. Ryder and I finished in 34 minutes...not too bad. Immediately after the race, I found out that one of our best friends is pregnant, which brings our pregnant friend tally to 11. Something must be in the water! We completed the morning by running some errands, eating at Dog Et Al (a hot dog place), and taking a nap. In the afternoon, we went to the park to meet the Cowheys. The three little boys played for a while on the playground and then went to the greenspace to fly the Cowhey's kite. Ryder was mesmerized by the big bug kite! It wasn't a terribly windy day so it took the engineer in the group to get the kite to fly. After playtime, we went to eat at Coach's with the Cowheys and played in front of the restaurant. The boys had such a blast! Thanks KiKi and Cowhey men for such a great evening!

Sunday: We woke up to a beautiful, cool morning and went to church. If you've seen Ryder you know that he has some kinky hair so we decided to spike it. It was sooooo cute! I dressed the two Marks men in matching outfits...striped RL oxfords, slacks, and brown shoes. They were just precious. We had some good Cajun food for lunch and played outside for the rest of the afternoon.

I've realized that Tallahassee isn't too bad when you have great weekends and great friends like we do. Hopefully, we will have a lot more wonderful weekends to come! Hope that you enjoy the pics.

I love the spikey hair, Jen! When I read the words I have to admit I thought 'oh no' but it's so cute!! Loved reading this tonight, it made me smile and remember a little girl not so long ago that was just as little and cute~
I'm so thankful you came into my world.
